Betrayal of Satyameva Jayate: The Writing on the National Emblem

In our previous post we presented the essay Live not by Lies authored by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. In this post we have modified it to suit our context.

Our national emblem contains the writing:Satyameva Jayate. This means Truth Alone Triumphs. This is a part of ancient Hindu aphorism: Satayameva Jayate NanRtam, meaning Truth alone triumphs and not Lies.

However, nowhere in public life and possibly never in the history has there been so rampant prevalence of Lies as in the Socio-Econo-Political scene in India. Not only is there a reign of Lies, their even more poisonous ally Hypocrisy seems to be the order of the day.

Even if we ignore, though at our own peril, the exessess of Islamic Rule, and British Rule in India - 80, 000, 000 Hindus killed for spreading the Religion of Peace, and Millions killed during the Bengal Famine caused by British Design, not to forget the Jalianwala Bagh - just thirty five years ago we experienced Emergency. At those times we dared not even to whisper. Now we are told we have the freedom to read and write. Sometimes we can gather at our intellectual clubs and complain frankly to one another: What kind of tricks are they playing on us, and where are they dragging us? Gratuitous boasting of cosmic achievements while there is poverty and destruction at home.

Is there any way out? And they put on trial anybody they want and they put sane people in asylums--always they, and we are powerless. Just observe how Shri Subramanian Swamy has been accused for his views which he expressed in a News Paper article. While the biggest inciter of violence, The Vile Kuran, is taught in full freedom in Madrasas subsidized by taxes paid largely by Hindus and the money siphoned off from Hindu Temples.

Things are reaching the rock bottom. Why are we embracing a spiritual death? Don't we see that after Spiritual Death physical death will soon flare up and consume us both and our children--but as before we still smile in a cowardly way and mumble without tongues tied.

But what can we do to stop it? Do we have the strength?

We, poor and rich alike - the poor for today's modest ration of food and the rich for their decadent luxuries - have been so hopelessly dehumanized that we are willing to abandon all our principles, our souls, and all the efforts of our predecessors and all opportunities for our descendants. We just don't want our fragile existence disturbed. We lack staunchness, pride and enthusiasm. We have already taken refuge in the crevices. We completely lack civil courage.

They can try a Subramanian Swamy or they can wreck horrible atrocities on sleeping protesters, they can swindle lakhs or crores of rupees or they can hobnob with Islamic terrorists, we don't get moved. The only thing that we fear is to lag behind the herd and to take a step alone. The poor are afraid of losing their half square meal and the rich afraid of losing their half a bottle of scotch.

We have been indoctrinated in political courses, of Secularism and Socialism in just the same way as the idea was fostered that if we live comfortably, all will be well for the rest of our lives. But luxury may lead only to decadence whereas political blindness is leading us to national (Hindu) suicide.

And we lament ruefully: We can't escape your environment and social conditions. Everyday life defines consciousness. What does it have to do with us? We can't do anything about it?

But that's not true. We can - we can do everything. But we lie to ourselves for assurance. It is not they who are to blame for everything but we ourselves, only we. One can object: But actually you can think anything you like. Gags have been stuffed into our mouths. Nobody wants to listen to us and nobody asks us. How can we force them to listen? It is impossible to change their minds.

It would be natural to vote them out of office-but elections are far away, and often they are stage managed in our country. In other enlightened democracies people know about strikes and protest demonstrations-but we are too oppressed, and it is a horrible prospect for us: How can one suddenly renounce a job and take to the streets? Yet the other fatal paths probed during the past century by our "false leaders" are not for us.

Now that the axes have done their work, when everything which was sown has sprouted anew, we can see that the young and presumptuous people who thought they would make out country just and happy through Mohandasian non-violence, and Jawaharian Secularism and Socialism, were themselves misled, misled by the hypocritical Mohandas and Jawahar themselves. No thanks, you false fathers of nation and education! Now we know that infamous methods breed infamous results. Let our hands be clean!

Is the circle closed? And is there really no way out? And is there only one thing left for us to do, to wait without taking action? Maybe something will happen by itself? It will never happen as long as we daily acknowledge, extol, and strengthen--and do not sever ourselves from--the most perceptible of its aspects: Lies.

When Islam (or Socialism) intrudes into peaceful life, its face glows with self-confidence, as if it were carrying a banner and shouting: ``I am violence. Run away, make way for me--I will crush you.''. And in order to maintain a respectable face it summons falsehood (Falsehoods of Secularism and Equality, it is not for no reason that Islam is also known as Communism with God!) as its ally--since violence lays its ponderous paw not every day and not on every shoulder. It demands from us only obedience to lies and daily participation in lies--all loyalty lies in that.

And the simplest and most accessible key to our self-neglected liberation lies right here: Personal non-participation in lies. Though lies conceal everything, though lies embrace everything, but I will not give any help to it.

This opens a breach in the imaginary encirclement caused by our inaction. It is the easiest thing to do for us, but the most devastating for the lies. Because when people renounce lies it simply cuts short their existence. Lies, like an infection, can exist only in a living organism.

Even those among us who do not exhort ourselves, who are not sufficiently matured to march into the squares and shout the truth out loud or to express aloud what we think; can do this much. It's dangerous. But let us refuse to say that which we do not think.

Let us acknowledge our inherent cowardice and let us try to be rid of it. And yet, in the meantime we can choose this path, the easiest and most accessible one, which takes into account our inherent cowardice, already well rooted. Our path is to talk away from the gangrenous boundary. If we did not paste together the dead bones and scales of ideology, if we did not sew together the rotting rags, we would be astonished how quickly the lies would be rendered helpless and subside. That which should be naked would then really appear naked before the whole world.

So in our timidity, let each of us make a choice: Whether consciously, to remain a servant of falsehood--of course, it is not out of inclination, but to feed one's family, that one raises his children in the spirit of lies--or to shrug off the lies and become an honest man worthy of respect both by one's children and contemporaries.

And from that day onward he:

  • Will not henceforth write, sign, or print in any way a single phrase which in his opinion distorts the truth.

  • Will utter such a phrase neither in private conversation not in the presence of many people, neither on his own behalf not at the prompting of someone else, either in the role of agitator, teacher, educator, not in a theatrical role.

  • Will not depict, foster or broadcast a single idea which he can only see is false or a distortion of the truth whether it be in painting, sculpture, photography, technical science, or music.

  • Will not cite out of context, either orally or written, a single quotation so as to please someone, to feather his own nest, to achieve success in his work, if he does not share completely the idea which is quoted, or if it does not accurately reflect the matter at issue.

  • Will not allow himself to be compelled to attend demonstrations or meetings if they are contrary to his desire or will, will neither take into hand not raise into the air a poster or slogan which he does not completely accept.

  • Will not raise his hand to vote for a proposal with which he does not sincerely sympathize, will vote neither openly nor secretly for a person whom he considers unworthy or of doubtful abilities.

  • Will not allow himself to be dragged to a meeting where there can be expected a forced or distorted discussion of a question.

  • Will immediately talk out of a meeting, session, lecture, performance or film showing if he hears a speaker tell lies, or purvey ideological nonsense or shameless propaganda.

  • Will not subscribe to or buy a newspaper or magazine in which information is distorted and primary facts are concealed.

Of course all of the possible and necessary deviations from falsehood have not been listed. But a person who purifies himself will easily distinguish other instances with his purified outlook.

No, it will not be the same for everybody at first. Some, at first, will lose their jobs (and some their election tickets from their party). For young people who want to live with truth, this will, in the beginning, complicate their young lives very much, because the required recitations are stuffed with lies, and it is necessary to make a choice.

But there are no loopholes for anybody who wants to be honest. On any given day any one of us will be confronted with at least one of the above-mentioned choices even in the most secure of the technical sciences. Either truth or falsehood: Toward spiritual independence or toward spiritual servitude.

And he who is not sufficiently courageous even to defend his soul- don't let him be proud of his ``progressive'' views, and don't let him boast that he is an academician or a people's artist, a merited figure, or a general--let him say to himself: I am in the herd, and a coward. It's all the same to me as long as I'm fed and warm or get my drinks in the air-conditioned room.

Even this path, which is the most modest of all paths of resistance, will not be easy for us. But it is much easier than self-immolation or a hunger strike: The flames will not envelope your body, your eyeballs, will not burst from the heat, and half a square meal and water will always be available to your family.

A great people of Tibet, whom we (Jawahar) betrayed and deceived: Haven't they shown us how a vulnerable breast can stand up even against tanks if there is a worthy heart within it?

If a poor old bachelor Anna Hazare can do it, why not Mukesh Ambani? If a rustic looking Baba Ramdev can do it, why not sophistry incarnate Karan Thapar? If the lone politician, Harvard educated Subramanian Swamy can do it, why not other politicians, including the London educated Sardar (if he believes he is clean)? Remember, it is NEVER TOO LATE to start speaking the Truth.

You say it will not be easy? But it will be easiest of all possible resources. It will not be an easy choice for a body, but it will be easy for a soul. Not, it is not an easy path. But there are already people, even dozens of them, who over the years have maintained all these points and live by the truth.

So you will not be the first to take this path, but will join those who have already taken it. This path will be easier and shorter for all of us if we take it by mutual efforts and in close rank. If there are thousands of us, they will not be able to do anything with us. If there are tens of thousands of us, then we would not even recognize our country. If honest persons from the Police and patriots from the Army start telling the Truth, it will be the biggest coup.

The brave will fight using arms, but even the cowards must cooperate at least with their tongue. If we are too frightened, then we should stop complaining that someone is looting and suffocating us. We ourselves are doing it. Let us then bow down even more, let us wail, and our brothers the biologists will help to bring the day nearer when they will be able read our thoughts and confirm that they are worthless and hopeless.

And if we get cold feet, even taking this step, then we are worthless and hopeless. Remember what the famous Russian author Pushkin wrote once:

Why should cattle have the gifts of freedom?

Their heritage from generation to generation is the belled yoke and the lash.

Live Not By Lies: An Essay by Alexandr Solzhenitsyn

Alexander Solzhenitsyn wrote this essay. We are copy-pasting it here. We have taken it from here.

Following is the full text of Alexander Solzhenitsyn's essay ``Live Not By Lies.'' It is perhaps the last thing he wrote on his native soil [before the collapse of the Soviet Union] and circulated among Moscow's intellectuals [at that time]. The essay is dated Feb. 12, the day that secret police broke into his apartment and arrested him. The next day he was exiled to West Germany.

At one time we dared not even to whisper. Now we write and read samizdat, and sometimes when we gather in the smoking room at the Science Institute we complain frankly to one another: What kind of tricks are they playing on us, and where are they dragging us? gratuitous boasting of cosmic achievements while there is poverty and destruction at home. Propping up remote, uncivilized regimes. Fanning up civil war. And we recklessly fostered Mao Tse-tung at our expense-- and it will be we who are sent to war against him, and will have to go. Is there any way out? And they put on trial anybody they want and they put sane people in asylums--always they, and we are powerless.

Things have almost reached rock bottom. A universal spiritual death has already touched us all, and physical death will soon flare up and consume us both and our children--but as before we still smile in a cowardly way and mumble without tounges tied. But what can we do to stop it? We haven't the strength?

We have been so hopelessly dehumanized that for today's modest ration of food we are willing to abandon all our principles, our souls, and all the efforts of our predecessors and all opportunities for our descendants--but just don't disturb our fragile existence. We lack staunchness, pride and enthusiasm. We don't even fear universal nuclear death, and we don't fear a third world war. We have already taken refuge in the crevices. We just fear acts of civil courage.

We fear only to lag behind the herd and to take a step alone-and suddenly find ourselves without white bread, without heating gas and without a Moscow registration.

We have been indoctrinated in political courses, and in just the same way was fostered the idea to live comfortably, and all will be well for the rest of our lives. You can't escape your environment and social conditions. Everyday life defines consciousness. What does it have to do with us? We can't do anything about it?

But we can--everything. But we lie to ourselves for assurance. And it is not they who are to blame for everything-we ourselves, only we. One can object: But actually toy can think anything you like. Gags have been stuffed into our mouths. Nobody wants to listen to us and nobody asks us. How can we force them to listen? It is impossible to change their minds.

It would be natural to vote them out of office-but there are not elections in our country. In the West people know about strikes and protest demonstrations-but we are too oppressed, and it is a horrible prospect for us: How can one suddenly renounce a job and take to the streets? Yet the other fatal paths probed during the past century by our bitter Russian history are, nevertheless, not for us, and truly we don't need them.

Now that the axes have done their work, when everything which was sown has sprouted anew, we can see that the young and presumptuous people who thought they would make out country just and happy through terror, bloody rebellion and civil war were themselves misled. No thanks, fathers of education! Now we know that infamous methods breed infamous results. Let our hands be clean!

The circle--is it closed? And is there really no way out? And is there only one thing left for us to do, to wait without taking action? Maybe something will happen by itself? It's dangerous. But let us refuse to say that which we do not think.

Where are the Seculars and Socialists and the self-appointed upholders of Freedom of Speech? Hindus Wake Up: It is Time to ACT.

That Salman Rushdie's visit to the Jaipur Literary Festival was cancelled is old news. That even his video conference during the festival was called of is old news. The important question is: What are the defenders of Free Speech doing?

All the self-appointed defenders of free-speech, especially those who are most vocal about displaying Mo**er Fu**er Huss** paintings, have dug their faces up their backsides and are keeping mum and their mouths in their own bums. What does the impotent media say? Anger, dismay over Salman Rushdie gag. And the reason? This:

In the courtyard, a group of young men had just finished offering namaz. "Rivers of blood will flow here if they show Rushdie," said one. Muslim Manch representative Abdul Salim Sankhla told TOI, "We will not allow Rushdie in any form. There will be violent protests if he speaks."

What does that Son of a Bit** His-Storian William Darlymple, one of the co-organizers, say? No Indian politician was willing to welcome Rushdie: Dalrymple. Bloody Fool.

Recall what Sir Vidiadhar S Naipaul remarked in his famous interview An area of Awakening:

However, we are aware of one of the more cynical forms of liberalism: it admits that one fundamentalism is all right in the world. This is the fundamentalism they are really frightened of: Islamic fundamentalism.

This reminds us of the Rivers of Blood Speech by Enoch Powell in a different setting but similar context.

We quote from the wikipedia article:

Powell recounted a conversation with one of his constituents, a middle-aged working man, a few weeks earlier. Powell said that the man told him: "If I had the money to go, I wouldn't stay in this country… I have three children, all of them been through grammar school and two of them married now, with family. I shalln't be satisfied till I have seen them all settled overseas." The man finished by saying to Powell: "In this country in 15 or 20 years' time the black man will have the whip hand over the white man." Powell went on:

Here is a decent, ordinary fellow-Englishman, who in broad daylight in my own town says to me, his Member of Parliament, that the country will not be worth living in for his children. I simply do not have the right to shrug my shoulders and think about something else. What he is saying, thousands and hundreds of thousands are saying and thinking – not throughout Great Britain, perhaps, but in the areas that are already undergoing the total transformation to which there is no parallel in a thousand years of English history.

Powell quoted a letter he received from a woman in Northumberland, about an elderly woman living in a Wolverhampton street where she was the only white resident. The elderly woman had lost her husband and her two sons in World War II and had rented out the rooms in her house. Once immigrants had moved into the street she was living in, her white lodgers left. Two black men had knocked on her door at 7 am to use her telephone to call their employers, but she refused, as she would have done to any other stranger knocking at her door at such an hour, and was subsequently verbally abused. She had asked her local authority for a rates reduction, but was told by a council officer to let out the rooms of her house. When the woman said the only tenants would be black, the council officer replied: "Racial prejudice won't get you anywhere in this country." The next part of the letter that Powell quoted went:

We must be mad, literally mad, as a nation to be permitting the annual inflow of some 50,000 dependents, who are for the most part the material of the future growth of the immigrant descended population. It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre. So insane are we that we actually permit unmarried persons to immigrate for the purpose of founding a family with spouses and fiancées whom they have never seen.

Mark the parts:

Here is a decent, ordinary fellow-Englishman, who in broad daylight in my own town says to me, his Member of Parliament, that the country will not be worth living in for his children. I simply do not have the right to shrug my shoulders and think about something else.

...

We must be mad, literally mad, ... It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre.

How many Hindus, if they can afford it, think that this country will be worth living in for their children? And what will those Hindus, who can not afford, do for their children? Teach them how to offer Namaz? Phew!

We must realize and act RIGHT NOW. Muslims do not belong to non-Muslim societies. If we Hindus want to remain Hindus and keep our nation safe for our children, we must ACT now.

Subramanian Swamy suggests a small step in this direction. Only those who proudly accept that their ancestors were Hindus can be assimilated in the Brihad Hindu Samaj. The rest must be dis-enfranchised. However, we think his solution is too mild and will be ineffective. Given the injunction of dissimulation (deceitful behavior) Taqiyya to be practiced against the infidel (non-Muslims). We can never be sure about Muslims taking any such oaths.

In our opinion, there is only one solution:

Muslims must be given two options. Muslims wanting to stay in India must quit Islam, or they must go to Pakistan. Seculars can also leave with such Muslims and go and stay with them in Pakistan with the practitioners of the Religion of Peace.

We don't want to prepare our children to pray facing westwards! And therefore we must ACT. Hindus must unite for their own safety and then prosperity.

A Secular Couple provides guidance for the Saffron Brigade

We have seen so many debates on TV and other similar forums where Secularists keep displaying hypocrisy. More often than not, the Seculars out-shout their opponents while the news anchors side with the Seculars. We point out that there are many nice hearted and misguided people who are under the sway of Secularism; but much more dangerous are the hard-core fundamentalist Seculars. We must discredit them completely. Muslims, Christians, Socialists, self-proclaimed intellectuals, self-certified civil society members all throng in such Secular Club. The Secular Club is united in their hatred of Hindus and Sanatana Dharma. In that sense, even though the following is not a very typical exchange on TV, we yearn that it becomes so.

Last night we found ourselves in the company of such a Secular group. Now such a thing is unusual in itself! And secondly, we began to converse with some rather earnest Secular, Liberal types. The conversation turned to politics, which led eventually to a rather self-righteous secular couple (SSC) saying that they hated the Hindu-Fundamentalist parties especially what they called as the Saffron Brigade (SB). And the following conversation ensued.

WE: Really, why is that?

SSC: Because they are horrible, fascist, skinhead brutes.

WE: I see. And what is your opinion of Muslim fundamentalists? Do you hate them also?

SSC: No, why would we hate Muslim Fundamentalists?

WE: Don’t you think of them also as horrible, fascist, bearded brutes?

SSC: No, certainly not. What are you trying to say? Are you a racist, casteist, Hindu-Fundamentalist member of the Saffron Brigade?

WE: How many Muslim people have the Saffron Brigade killed? That you are aware of?

SSC: Well, I’m not sure, but they must have murdered someone. That’s what they are like. Oh, yes, they murdered thousands in Godhra.

WE: We are not aware of any people murdered in the name of Saffron Brigade. However, we are aware of the hundreds of people murdered in the name of the of Islam in Mumbai Train Explosions in 2006, and the 2,973 murdered in the name of Islam in America on 9/11, and over 1,000,000 murdered in the name of Islam in Sudan, and about 80,000,000 million Hindus murdered in the name of Islam.

As for Godhra, you are conveniently forgetting that more than a hundred Hindus including women and children who were burnt alive in the coaches of Sabarmati Express. In the riots that followed, a few persons merely vented their anger because your Secular Government in Gujarat, led by Shri Narendra Modi failed to protect the Hindus. In the riots too, among the "hundreds that were killed" there were "hundreds of Hindus" as well. Lastly, this did NOT happen in the name of Saffron Brigade. So the Saffron Brigade did not kill anyone in Godhra. Some Muslims planned and burnt more than a hundred Hindu pilgrims alive; and in the ensuing riots, people killed one another. Many Hindus and a few Muslims died in those riots. More over, it looks like it was a riot orchestrated by your Secular forces to discredit the peace loving Hindus. By the way, if you are interested in the true story, we recommend you to read this.

Historically there have been hundreds of millions murdered in the name of Islam across the world, as every year there are hundreds of thousands murdered in the name of Islam. Are you prepared to admit therefore, that Islam is a murderous religion?

SSC: No, Islam is a religion of peace.

WE: But you believe that the Saffron Brigade is a violent sect? Filled with murderous racists, casteists and fundamentalists? Even though you cannot name a single murder carried out in their name?

SSC: Yes, that’s right. Even if they don’t murder people, we all know they would like to.

WE: Would you say that the Saffron Brigade, whatever you may think about them, believe that their country is under threat?

SSC: No, they are just a bunch of thugs, looking for any excuse to hate.

WE: Would you say that the fundamentalist Muslims, who murder your fellow countrymen in the name of Islam, were intent on eventually taking control of your country and running it as an Islamic state?

SSC: What! Oh my God, you really are a racist, casteist Hindu-Fundamentalist, aren’t you?

WE: But is it not a fact that the Saffron Brigade claim they are acting in defense of your country; and is it also not a fact that the fundamentalist Muslims claim they want to take over your country and eventually bring Sharia regime?

SSC: Look, you are just trying to put words into my mouth, you are obviously a fascist who attends Shakhas run by RSS and Shiv Sena, or Yoga camps run by Ramdev.

WE: Sorry to interrupt you, but we just want to get something straight here. It would be really nice if the Shakhas and Yoga camps really did what you are hinting that they do. However, we can come back to this point later. The more important point is that on the one hand we have followers of a religion called Islam, who murder us in the name of that religion and inform us that their ultimate ambition is to conquer us, whilst on the other hand we have a group of people who have murdered no-one, and who wish to defend your country, yet you think that the Saffron Brigade is filled with murderous haters and that Islam is a religion of peace?

SSC: Yes, absolutely. Only a racist, casteist, Hindu-Fundamentalist would think otherwise.

WE: Have you read George Orwell’s 1984?

SSC: Of course we have! After studying at St. Stephense in Delhi, we joined the Jawaharlal Nehru University, where we learnt Secularism and Socialism! He (the husband) studied Theoretical Physics while I studied Evironmental Bio-Ecology.

WE: How admirable. A veritable achievement indeed. One assumes therefore you are familiar with the daily Two Minute Hate, carried out by Big Brother’s state propagandists, aimed at rousing the passionate hatred of the populace against Emmanuel Goldstein?

SSC: Yes! Absolutely! Overt propaganda utilized as a means of empowering the state at the expense of the common man in the street! Rath Yatras…

WE: My dear, you must excuse our interrupting you again, but do you not think that you yourself might be a victim of State propagandist and brainwashing techniques?

SSC: Us? Absolutely not! I just happen to be a senior news anchor on Social Issues while he runs his own NGO on human rights. There is little we do not know about propagandist techniques.

WE: Fascinating, but is not a fact that the Indian Secular State, and both the State run and private media, relentlessly portray Islam as a religion of peace and the Saffron Brigade as a party of violent racists, casteist, fundamentalists?

SSC: Yes, but...

WE: You say you are not the victim of propaganda, yet you defend Islam as a religion of peace, even whilst you admit they commit mass murder in the name of their religion and have a stated ambition of taking over your country. Further, you denounce who you refer to as the Saffron Brigade, who you admit have murdered no-one, and act only in the defence of your country, as murderous fascist thugs?

SSC: You are deliberately confusing us, and you are deliberately putting words into our mouth again, we don't want to discuss with people like you...

WE: Dear folks, we fear the confusion resides only within you. It has been most enlightening talking to you.

After this exchange, we were wondering what was wrong with the Saffron Brigade? And the answer was obvious! Saffron Brigade should and MUST start running active organizations like what the followers of the Religion of Peace do. Afterall if you want to be known as peaceful, you need to do what those who are known as peaceful do. Isn't it?

Once the Saffron Brigade does this, they will not only be acknowledged as peaceful, they will also be able to protect the interests of their country and fellow beings better.

Congress is the biggest Conspiracy

In our very last post we had said: "Sane persons will often consider it below their dignity to think about walking-talking containers of poisonous fecal matter exemplified by Sibal and Singh." However, once again we are forced to comment on one of them. Democracy as an ideal is surely far from being flawless, however democracy as a mechanism can often be made to work reasonably efficiently. But that will be the topic some other day.

Here we want to point out how absolute filth is passing itself off as "leaders" and "peoples' representatives". And who else than Dogvijay Singh to take the cake again. We remind the readers that Congress has always been very fond of Conspiracy theories. Jawahar used to babble about conspiracy theories when sane people warned him about China. And after his feeble intelligence we once had a decent hope in Shri Lal Bahadur Shastry. Unfortunately Shri Shastry died under mysterious circumstances, alleged to have been killed by the Soviets. That was the only time, when there indeed was a conspiracy, however Congress never gave any importance to it. And then it was Indira Gandhi who once famously blamed a conspiracy hatched by the CIA and Mossad - Mossad being Israeli secret service - as the cause for the failure of the Monsoon.

Thus, the one and only explanation of all inconvenient Truths, for the Congress is its favorite Conspiracy Theory. The latest in this line is the claim that the black-ink incident in Swami Ramdev's gathering was stage managed by the RSS. The readers might recall that we have regularly opined that the RSS has a decent heart and an empty head. And Congress alleges that this RSS is cleverer than Congress and hatches conspiracies against it. This must be some kind of a joke! And it is the same DS again who has come out with the theory. Humility is not the defining the feature of this site. And yet when we call Sibal and Singh as walking-talking-containers-of-poisonous-fecal-matter, we are sure that everyone except Congress-persons take it to be only an understatement.

But the main question is: Why is Congress so fond of conspiracy Theories? And the answer is so simple that most people miss it. Recall the quote by George Orwell: To see what is in front of our nose requires a constant struggle. And the truth right in front of our nose is that Congress has been the biggest Conspiracy against the Hindus.

We list a few salient examples:

1. Congress, using Mohandas, delayed our independence from the British.

2. Congress fooled the Hindus promising them that India would never be divided and then allowed the partition to happen.

3. Even when partition happened, instead of partitioning into Muslim and Hindu regions or at the very least Muslim, Secular and Hindu regions, it partitioned the country into Muslim and Secular regions. Secularism has been one of the most acute venoms that we have been poisoned with.

4. Jawahar allowed the Romila Thapars to distort history books so that Hindu children read false history.

5. About Jawaharian Socialism the lesser said the better.

6. Jawahar lost the war in 1962 and blamed the advisors and the armed forces. Our armed forces have always been very very brave. It was the (non-existent) leadership of Jawahar which failed. He had failed to do even the bare minimum in defence preparedness despite serious and repeated warnings by the defense people.

Contrast this with 1971, when India won the war in 1971, Indira Gandhi took the credit (The moron Atal Bihari called her by the name of a Goddess). Mind you, our equipment were still inferior to those of the Pakis. India won because of the bravery and intelligence of defense forces.

7. Indira fostered Bhindrenwale against the Akalis. She also delayed taking action until there was no choice except military action, demolished the Sacred Golden Temple, and tried to tint the conflict as Hindu-Sikh conflict.

8. After Indira's assassination, it was the Congress which along with its Secular and Muslim stooges orchestrated attacks on innocent Sikhs, and termed the planned massacre as "riots".

The list is almost endless.

In the recent times Manmohan is not our first Sikh Prime minister, he is the n-th Sick Prime Minister in a long list of Congress Prime ministers. About Sonia, the lesser said the better.

The question is - can Congress wash its sins? The short answer is NO, and the long answer is a YES with a caveat. Congress can not wash its sins, but those Hindus who are in Congress must work for a complete and irreversible demise of the Congress. Further, these Hindus from the would be erstwhile Congress must form a pro-Hindu party and assiduously guard the Hindus and their interests. And those who are of the ilk of Sibals and Singhs must be taught a lesson which will make a Ghengis Khan feel ashamed.

The Bas***d Kapil Sibal Barks Again

Sane persons will often consider it below their dignity to think about walking-talking containers of poisonous fecal matter exemplified by Sibal and Singh. However, when such excreta is invited to read its own "poetry" - while much more deserving authors like Shri Salman Rushdie have been kept out - the revulsion needs to be expressed.

This needs no mention that Sibal, among others, must pay really and very dearly, for what happened to peaceful protesters at midnight. Something that not only he suffers and remembers, but something that the nation too can see and remember with a relief. And this is well in line with our views on Exemplary Punishment.

However, this post is about the n-th instance of hypocricy of this WTCOPFM (walking-talking-.... ). This bas***d replying to a query said: "I don't know the definition of peace here. There can be no peace without dialogue; it can only come with dialogue,". And what is the nature of his dialogue? Police atrocities on women, children and old men, followed up with "Jo hua achchha hua" (Whatever happened, happened for good). You, Mr. Sibal, must remember that not only "jo hua achchha hua", but also "jo hoga vo bahut achchha hoga" (i.e. Not only whatever happened was good, but also that whatever will happen will be very good!).

It is high time that rotten politicians are socially ostracized from such functions. They have nothing to add to such festivals except repugnant presence. The organisers of functions who invite such scum discredit themselves. Jaipur Literary Festival has been flawed from the beginning owing to its association with Hindu-haters like William Darlymple.

Also by the way, people often raise no objection to the high percentage of Muslims amongst the speakers, way above their literate population percentage. And most of these Muslim artists misguide non-Muslims about Islam.

Equality before Law vis-a-vis Exemplary Punishment

In the recent past we have been made aware of the extent to which various politicians and ministers have been indulging themselves in terms of corruption. More specifically CWG and 2G scams have eroded the already dwindling credibility of Indian politicians to nearly zero. We have mentioned in the past that we may need to introduce the idea of Exemplary Punishment. Here we explore the idea a little further.

Our current judicial system is derived from the English Common Law system which emphasizes the principle that it is unfair to treat similar facts differently on different occasions. Further there is this Presumption of Innocence, stated differently An accused is innocent until proven guilty. Thus the burden of proof rests upon the prosecution. And then there is the notion of Evidence, that is what constitutes an acceptable proof. Further, our procedure also emphasizes that "better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer". Each of these point to lofty ideals. However, when they are applied in the present context of Indian Politicians, it surely is a mockery of justice.

Before we proceed further we recall anecdotes from Hindu Tradition.

1. Bhagwan Rama's spy heard a washerman's conversation with his wife in which the washer-man accused Bhagwan Ram of some neglect. And that resulted in the exile of Bhagwati Sita. From a devotee's perspective, it was one of the most poignant tale in which one of the most exalted woman underwent great suffering owing to casual and callous remark by a insignificant person. Please note that we do not imply that washer-men are insignificant or that kings must ignore the views of their common subjects. This is to mention the importance of striving to set and maintain the highest possible standards by people at responsible positions.

2. A just king had constructed a huge bell at a public square so that anyone seeking justice could ring the bell and seek justice at any time of the day or night. And then, as the story goes, once a cow rang the bell by pulling the ropes at the dead of midnight. The king on investigation discovered that his son, a prince, had crushed the cow's calf under his chariot. The king ordered the prince to be crushed under a chariot.

How barbaric and uncivilized, some would say! But try and find out whether the Hindi Film celebrities who have crushed many humans to death - the poor humans who were sleeping on footpath because they had no homes - have met with any punishment. Try and find out if the son of a South Indian Chief Minister who is known to have raped a News Reader has met with any punishment. Observe how those, who have the slightest power in India, behave with the poor and the powerless. And then one would realize whether we have ANY justice here in this country at present times.

We also emphasize that we should not forget the bravery and kindness of the same poor and common people during floods in Mumbai towards all fellow beings, an example that is worth remembering for a long time. Thus if the poor and powerless are good in India, it is NOT because of our system but it is because of our Hindu Tradition. While if the rich and the powerful are indulgent criminals, it is NOT because of our Hindu tradition, but because of the existing toothless and sissy system.

People with high privileges are roaming scot free for they get the same benefit-of-the-doubt that a petty criminal is entitled to. Remember that Lalu has not been commensurately punished for the fodder scam, nor have the Bollywood trash been punished for killing humans or endangered species of deers.

We would like to state that notwithstanding the intricate definitions of common-law, equality before the law, presumption of innocence, and all that:

1. People with higher privileges must be judged by harsher standards (the higher the privileges, the harsher the standards).

2. The time taken to disburse justice, especially punishment, must also be much shorter for the more privileged.

3. The criterion for getting bail and such benefits must also be much more stringent for persons with higher privileges.

We do not want petty thieves to rot in judicial custody for years for alleged crimes of stealing a bicycle, while Bollywood stars and ex-Ministers indulge in the luxury on bail after allegedly committing murders and misappropriation of lacs of crores of rupees. If you want the luxury of lenient law, then you must opt for humble circumstances.

Another standard counter would be: If such a system is put into place then nobody will be willing to accept responsible positions of being a public servant. We would say, even if that IS the case, we would rather reach that situation for once, than suffering agonies under the present public-masters who are masquerading as public servants.

If bail to privileged and jail to unprivileged is the meaning of "Equality before the Law", then to hell with such equality. We want "Exemplary Punishment" to be put in place. And of course, this is well in line with our earlier demand for a New Constitution (see for example, here, here and here).

Some Don'ts regarding the Hindu Manifesto.

After the article (see here) in DNA published last year, which has been removed from the DNA site in a cowardly fashion, there has been a renewed discussion about Hindutva. As we have always maintained, Hindutva of the Sangh Parivar has been a somewhat flawed concept. Now we have the Hindutva notion of Shri Subramanian Swamy. In his talks he has been speaking about Hindu Values. In fact his point that those denying their Hindu ancestry must be disenfranchised drew a lot of fume and smoke from the bleeding heart Secularists. Shri Rajiv Malhotra has also been in news for his new book titled Being Different: An Indian Challenge to Western Universalism. Shri S N Balagangadhara has also been working on his research programmes: Comparative Science of Cultures, and Rethinking Religion in India.

In this context, we quote from an anecdote in which a traditional Brahamana was lamenting with his teacher that he was being looked down upon by his other Brahmin colleagues who obtained Secular English Education and were making more money. His teacher, a great wise man replied: "If they look down upon you, why don't you also look down upon them for having become 'Secularised'?" The questioner was totally stymied. The wise teacher continued: "Someone looks down upon you because you too look down upon yourself." The incident is narrated in this book.

So Shri Subramanian Swamy points out that we need not be defensive or apologetic about Hindutva. Shri Rajiv Malhotra points out that the West has been looking at us through its own glass, and we need not look at ourselves through their eyes. Rather, we can look at the West with Hindu eyes and form our own assessment. Shri Balagangadhara too emphasizes that if the West thinks about us in terms of Indology, then we too must form a subject called Westology and look at the West.

All these are bold and welcome suggestions. These remind us that we need to be Confident of our own being and heritage. This is a very very important point and must be the foundation on which we build our world view.

However, this post is to be about don'ts! So let us return to the topic.

There are many things in our tradition which we do not appreciate well yet and there are some whose current practices are somewhat questionable. The most commonly cited examples are casteism, and supposedly wasteful practices during Hindu Festivals. We do not know about others but Shri Swamy seems to be in favor of abolition of caste. His point is that caste is not a Hindu concept, rather a Portuguese concept and word. His view on Varna and Jati are not so well known to us, but he seems to have hinted that we should stop identifying ourselves with Varnas and rather identify ourselves with being a Hindu. This again is a commendable point but is somewhat inappropriately put.

We believe that Varna system came about as a consequence in Social life of the Spiritual Truths discovered by the Rishis of Sanatana Dharma. Thus, if there are any flaws in the current practices, the solution is not the abolition of the concept of Varna system, rather a rediscovery of the system. And once we energize the channels of dissemination for Spiritual Truths, necessary and appropriate Social Truths will be rediscovered as well. As Swami Vivekananda once pointed out: India's life line is in religion and philosophy, intensify her in these channels and the rest will take care of itself. Thus when any attempt to reform the Society is undertaken, the focus should be on regeneration from the fundamental principles of Sanatana Dharma.

As we have mentioned in one of our earlier posts that Sanatana Dharma is inherently universal. We need not do anything further to accommodate anyone. We are open to all, but those who wish to be away, we need not make any extra concessions to accommodate them. Rather, we must strengthen ourselves. The social evils of current practices in caste system can not be wished away by wishing away Varna. They can be properly and comprehensively handled only by the rediscovery of the healthy and vibrant Varna system which we will spontaneously rediscover. Until then we can exercise circumspection but surely must not resort to condemnation.

In summary, a few of the things we Hindus must guard against is:

1. Being apologetic about idol-worship.

2. Being apologetic about Varnashrama.

3. Being apologetic about Hindu Festivals. For example, Bali or sacrificial practices. Or for that matter, being apologetic about vegetarianism.

4. Being apologetic about defending our rights to be who and what we are.

...

Similarly we must also not fall prey to subversive ideas like

1. Non-discrimination as the highest principle in Social and Political life.

2. Mohandasian non-violence as the defining feature of Hinduism.

3. Equality before the law. (We will write more in some future post to explain our position on this.)

4. That Parliamentary Democracy is the best suited for us.

5. Infallibility of our current Constitution.

...

We welcome readers' comments and additions to these points.

Right and Wrong Reasons for why some one can or can not become PM.

In a recent article, its author asked a pertinent question: Can Rahul Gandhi become the Prime Minister of India? Then in an effort to show that RG can not, the author went on to ask six questions that he thought RG would not be able to answer satisfactorily. His questions are:

1. Can he articulate a philosophy of political and social change that is compelling enough to chart the policies of the Congress for the next 20 years?

2. Can he create a political strategy that is rooted not in the vote bank politics of the past — slicing and dicing communities and castes — but in appealing to the aspirations and energy of constituencies that have traditionally not even bothered to vote?

3. Does he have the intent and the ability to reform the party’s governance structures?

4. Can he win elections for the party?

5. Can he build and sustain coalitions?

6. Does he have the management ability to lead and govern a party as diverse as the Congress, or a country as complex as India?

A very formidable set of questions.

However, there is a catch. In our opinion, it is an exercise in futility. Rhetorically speaking, what made Jawahar a leader? Could he have answered the same questions correctly? That his answers failed is a foregone conclusion. Could RG's grand-mother Indira Gandhi have answered these same questions correctly? Could Rajiv Gandhi? Could V P Singh, H D Devegowda, I K Gujral, Chandrashekhar, P V Narasimha Rao, A B Vajpeyee and Manmohan Singh? If none of these could answer “correctly”, for correctness is the key, then your questions lose all significance. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can give some godforsaken answer to any set of difficult questions. And further their ability and inability seems to have no bearing on their becoming the PM. We agree that this is sad state of affairs, but we emphasize that this applies to all and not merely to RG.

Please remember that Jawahar's Socialistic vision after re-inforcement from Indira Gandhi brought India to an economic disaster in 1991. V P Singh divided the country along caste lines, Devegowda and I K Gujaral were absolutely useless with Gujaral doctrine making India a virtual back-side offerer to its neighbors. Vajpeyee sent his own minister escorting "terrorists" to Kandahar and the less said about Manmohan the better.

This means that when there is a country of One billion dumb-fu*ks (DF), any DF can become a PM. And Rahul Gandhi surely qualifies in that sense. He possibly is the biggest DF of them all.

Secondly, in India typical answers to these questions would look like, realistically speaking:

1. No party needs any policy, they try to bribe their way to power.

2. Slicing, Dicing makes 1. more efficient!

3. All parties are equally badly governed, so that will never be a differentiating factor.

4. Not leaders, Money and Manipulations win elections in India (and also elsewhere).

For example, Did Lalu win owing to his “brilliance”. His brilliance has been betrayed! He won on the basis of “vote bank” politics. Rahul Gandhi will inherit an efficient Money-Manipulation machinery, so he may trump Lalu, or for that matter owing to hiw weakness for Sonia, Lalu may join RG!

5. Same as 4.

Most recent example, Ajit Singh supporting accepting the bribe of ministerial berth.

6. One billion DFs are only too willing to become followers of anyone who they think (if they think at all) can lead them.

For example, Do you think Anna Hazare has an anti-corruption philosophy? Don’t you see how millions are “following him”? DFs need buzzwords to fool them. Didn’t Obama fool the American Public by parroting “Yes, We can”. Did he ever elaborate on “yes we can”? "Yes we can" what? A trillion dollar debt?

So, however sensible your questions may be, despite his inability to answer your questions, RG could still become PM. We emphasize that we neither support nor wish that RG should become India's PM. But nor should Pranav Mukherji, Advani or any other similar joker.

From the Hindu perspective, there is no candidate who deserves the chair! There is only one candidate who is the least bad and could be given a chance for want of any other better candidates. And that is Shri Narendra Modi. However Modi too is dangerously Socialist (he keeps talking about being pro-poor rather than being pro-fairness), Secular (he recently undertook his Sadbhavana mission wherein he was flirting with potential terrorists Islam.

In our opinion, the more important question to ask is: In a democracy, can there be a leader who loves his civilization so much that he doe not mind risking losing elections? Always remember that we need a leader who loves Hinduism very dearly. And we need to elect him.

Thus, Rahul Gandhi could become PM but we must ensure that he does not become PM. Advani could become PM but we must ensure that he does not. Similarly many others. We must ensure that Secular and Socialist forces bite the dust. At the very least we must ensure that the least Secular and Socialist leader is elected as PM. Shri Narendra Modi seems to be an OK choice. But Hindus need to find, support and elect someone much much better than Shri Modi. Until then, Modi is the lowest we must go. Anybody lower than Modi in his pro-Hindu stance, and he must be squarely rejected. And we must keep looking for someone more deserving than Modi.

What is the real stand of BJP?

In our previous article, we posed a question on Shri Subramanian Swamy which we had touched upon earlier (see here). Now we express our misgivings about the BJP. Last year, the current president of the BJP, Shri Nitin Gadkari is reported to have said:

We have moved from Ram Temple to Ram Rajya.

We need to ask the BJP, those who can not fulfil the promise of building a Ram Temple, how will they fufil the promise of building a Ram Rajya? The BJP under such leadership and guidance will meet the same fate it met under the guidance of Shri Pramod Mahajan. A defeat!

Shri Gadkari, you need to realize that Muslims will never vote for you, and so your efforts are in vain. And Hindus are losing faith in you, and you are happily sleeping!

On the Minority issue he said:

There are three ways to sort out the temple tangle by court, by law or by consensus, he told TOI. We would like it to be a collective endeavour and send out an appeal to each and every community and religion to lend a hand in construction of a temple. BJP is not an anti-minority outfit as generally perceived. We do not advocate any discrimination on the basis of religion or language nor have we exploited the minority like the Congress has in the past. The BJP is anti-terrorism and not anti-Muslim. They just practice a different mode of worship and that is all. So, why should we be against them.

Why can a party which talks about Hindutva, not take a stand on Islam? The truth and facts about Islam are well known. We, Hindus, must know it better than anyone else. Who are these politicians (whether Congress or otherwise) trying to fool? Instead of educating Hindus about the dangers of Secularism and Islam, the pseudo-Hindutva party is trying to sedate them into stupor!

He continued:

In fact, I would very much like Muslims to reach the top join IAS and IPS or become pilots, engineers the Congress has merely turned them into truck and bus drivers or thelewallahs, chaiwallahs or gatekeepers. The BJP wished that the benefits of good education must reach everyone, including Muslim women. We only oppose the attempts to appease terrorism . A mentality which makes Congress leaders refer to Osama-bin-Laden as Osamaji and term Swami Ramdev a thug in next breath.

Shri Gadkari, if you have access to an internet connection, please do a Google search on Major Nidal Hasan and read about the incident once. You might have a different thought about inducting Muslims into the Indian army in droves.

And the worst of all, Shri Gadkari associates the term Ram-Rajya with Mohandas. So does Gadkari also prefer the usage of Badshah Ram and Beghum Seeta, like the perverted Mohandas preferred? Shri Gadkari, if your promised Ram Rajya is that conceived by Mohandas, please implement it in your own party of psychophants. Hindus would like to have nothing to do with it. Shri Gadkari, before you attempt Ram Rajya, please establish a Chanakya-Raj for the Hindus! We guess, you would succeed in establishing Chanakya-Raj as much as you did in building the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

These Hindutva Leaders are merely tying themselves into knots in trying to appease their target constituencies. And these constituencies are everything except Hindus! Instead of inspiring confidence in the Hindus, they merely inspire Hindus to surrender in the name of fake ideals.

We have moved from Ram temple to Ram Rajya: BJP

Manjari Mishra, TNN Jun 8, 2011, 07.08am IST

LUCKNOW:
Ram Mandir is not an election issue; it represents our cultural identity. So we are now moving from Ram Mandir to Ram Rajya, the ultimate social order introduced by Prabhu Ram Chandra Ji himself and later invoked by Mahatma Gandhi. This was the cleverly drafted reply from BJP chief Nitin Gadkari when asked the obvious question: Will the party bank on the Ram temple issue in the coming elections?

The strategy shift coming in the election year, may prove to be a rude jolt to party hardliners in UP who were banking heavily on revival of Mandir wave to better electoral prospects, but Gadkari stands his ground. Armed with comparative development indices of different states and a slew of schemes for speeding up economic growth, the new-age saffron warrior is clearly not focusing on Ayodhya. He is looking well beyond.

Coming down to UP, Gadkari ruled out any alliance in the assembly elections. Tactfully hinting that here were murmurs within the state party unit for joining hands with the BSP which he had to eventually silence. No direct or indirect relationship with Mayawati, Mulayam Singh or Ajit Singh. There were mistakes in the past but that era is now over. I have made myself very clear on the score, he said.

He is convinced that a true democratic party like the BJP stood the best chance to capture the power this time. We are pitted against a mother-and-son party (Congress) a family enterprise ( Samajwadi Party) and a single leader outfit (BSP). Moreover, the common man can now compare the Rajnath government with Maya and Mulayams regime and note the vast difference, he pointed out.

The common man has had enough of the elephant and cycle ride. I am ready for a change and we can fill the void. However, instead of harping on negative things I would like to highlight the positive. A promise to deliver and a well charted out development agenda, he said, could do the trick. The vision document he plans for UP, would suggest a plethora of projects capable of changing the status of Uttar Pradesh which presents a most curious case of rich state and poor men.

What is the Real Stand of Subramanian Swamy?

We recently came across an article published by Frontline written by Shri Subramanian Swamy. In February 2000, in the opinion of S-Swamy, RSS was a fascist organization planning to destroy minorities. After paragraphs and paragraphs of vilification, S-Swamy concluded:

Of course, the good news is that the game plan can fail. I live on the hope that in India, no well-laid plan ever works. India, after all, is a functioning anarchy. That has been the undoing of every attempt to straitjacket its society. That is why we ar e still the longest continuing unbroken civilisation of over 10,000 years. The RSS is, luckily, our counter-culture. The vibrations of Mother India will, I hope, be its undoing.

Notice the language:

1. India is a functioning arachy and no well-laid plan ever works.

2. RSS is our counter-culture.

Among other things S-Swamy also said:

That, of course, is Hindutva justice: that is, the minorities can best look forward to liberation through mercy killing.

... the RSS is astute enough to know when to hunt with the hounds and when to run with the hares. They are smarter than the German fascists in this respect.

These are not minor allegations. Also notice that S-Swamy is not criticizing RSS for being less pro-Hindu, he is directly terming RSS a fascist organization. Swearolgy has been a well known Marxist trait. Whatever it might mean, Fascism is possibly not much worse than Secularism and Socialism that the Congress has been straight-jacketing us into, and the Anarchic-Libertarianism S-Swamy is seemingly idolizing.

Contrast this with S-Swamy's DNA article on how to wipe out Islamic Terror. In that he has proposed his well-laid plan! Applying his own reasoning, his well-laid plan will not work! More over, he is seeking co-operation from India's counter-culture!

S-Swamy has to come out clean with his ideological time-line. Hindus must be vigilant before they choose their leaders. The way Vajpeyee turned out be Jawahar in disguise, S-Swamy could be much worse, an opportunist like Ajit Singh (Recently supported Congress and became minister of Civil Aviation).

Further, if the BJP and RSS hob-nob with S-Swamy without making S-Swamy coming clean on his real stand, Hindus need to become suspicious of them too.

In our opinion, S-Swamy owes an explanation to Hindus before he lectures them and seeks their support.

For the convenience of the readers, we have copy-pasted the text of the Frontline article below. The full article is here.

OPINION

The RSS game plan

A disillusioned and dispirited RSS has set the ball rolling for mid-term general elections in which it hopes that the BJP will gain an absolute majority and implement the Hindutva agenda.

SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY

THE situation in India today is characterised and manifested by creeping fascism. Never before in our history have we been confronted by such an almost invisible phenomenon. India has seen a crawling imperialism (1750-1947) when foreign traders turned mercenary protectors, and then slowly became our masters. But that process took a century to consummate and another century to unwind. The Indian people have also experienced the Emergency (1975-77) that came upon the land in a flash and went out much the same way. Nevertheless we had got a taste of dictatorship of the modern state in that short period. We had felt it, hated it, but then the nation also revolted against it.

Today the creeping fascism of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is coming upon us not as gradually as imperialism did, nor as suddenly as did the Emergency. Its spread is being calibrated adroitly by seven faceless men of the RSS, the RSS "high comma nd". We barely feel it. Some yesteryear civil libertyites such as Arun Shourie have been co-opted. Others are being wooed or chased.

But the RSS leaders are now in their late seventies, some not at all in good health, and so in a mood of frustration. Their glide to a total capture of Delhi's gaddi (throne) has been interrupted and put on 'hold'. Symbolically, the bhagwa dhwaj (saffron double triangle flag) does not yet flutter from the Red Fort; but the hated tricolour which no RSS office can hoist even on August 15, still does. The climb to total power is up a slippery slope. Having come so close, the RSS could lose it all in a sudden throw of the electoral dice. That is the frustration; so close yet so far. Last April, my tea party nearly put their goal out of reach. It was a close call.

So the RSS warhorses recently have chalked out a game plan: the "Final Solution". The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the National Agenda for Governance, they concluded, cannot go on forever. It must be ended at some poi nt. Otherwise the danger is that the RSS may.

Between the 1998 and 1999 general elections, the BJP had for the first time in 15 years and after six general elections, hit a plateau in Lok Sabha seats won. Its tally was stuck at 182 seats. The tally of its "allied parties" - which do not believe in H indutva - rose in terms of numbers (18 to 24), as well in terms of seats won (80 to 120). This rang alarm bells in the RSS. For an organisation that has been banned three times in 15 years, the 1999 election results naturally, justifiably, caused neurosi s in the RSS. Under the compulsions of the coalition calculus, they have had to dilute their goals for the rewards of office. It was a trade-off: a BJP Prime Minister meant acquiring national and international legitimacy they never had before. It also me ant a conspiracy of silence of the intellectuals in the creeping advance of their Hindutva goals.

But then there is a downside to that trade-off: the RSS cadre is disillusioned and disspirited with the compromises and the stunting. India is nowhere the Hindu Rashtra that the high command had been promising, and on which they had been weaned and brain -washed. The cadres' patience is now wearing thin. They want to strike out on their own even at the cost of losing power. I have seen this mindset before. Between 1977 and 1980, in the undivided Janata Party, I had witnessed the agony in the cadre. At th at time the same trade-offs were pointed out to the disgruntled rank and file by the high command. But the welling of sentiment could not be capped. The seven (younger men then) had therefore to act. They had to abandon the compromises in order to keep t he Janata unity. They thus allowed the government to fall, and then went on their own to form the BJP.

The current situation for the RSS is also characterised by the same paradigm. The RSS has, according to reliable sources, made up its mind that the NDA has taken its cause about as far as it could. The trade-off is no more worth it. Therefore the groundw ork has to be laid clandestinely and in small doses for achieving an absolute majority for the BJP. In other words, in the not-too-distant future, I believe the RSS will call for a mid-term poll when it feels that the ground has been prepared. The RSS ju ggernaut is thus on the move, and the groundwork is already there for the discerning to see. For this to fructify, the RSS has drawn up a game plan which has three components.

THE first component of the game plan is to discredit the RSS' opponents but protect its converts. The First Information Report in the Bofors case is a classic instance of this strategem. In that FIR, Rajiv Gandhi's name figures in the list of accused (n ever mind the column). But those Cabinet Ministers who vetted and signed the deal, or had even held secret negotiations on the "financial parameters" with the Bofors company as representatives of Rajiv Gandhi, are prosecution witnesses. Naturally we can guess what they will say in the witness box. Then there is the case of Arun Nehru, whose hand has been in every cookie jar of every deal of that period. He is our swadeshi Quattrocchi, but then he has now bathed in the Ganga jal of the BJP. He too is a witness, not an accused. The motto is: "Join us and be free. Resist us and see you in court." By a series of such sham prosecutions and managed associate media leaks, the RSS expects to undermine the democratic Opposition in India. They hope to tak e full advantage of the factions of democratic parties as they did with the Janata Dal recently.

The second component of the RSS game plan is to shake public confidence in every institution that can circumscribe or act as a speed-breaker for the RSS juggernaut. The Law Minister has already initiated moves to emasculate the Supreme Court via the judi cial commission and by threatening political monitoring of judicial ethics. Just in case his ilk got too rebellious, he has threatened to amend the law (through an ordinance) to permit foreign lawyers to practise in Indian courts. Briefless Jaffna lawyer s are waiting to fill the vacuum.

The Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister has elevated an RSS activist to the post of a selector of teachers in the National Council for Educational Research and Training, a person who defends his credentials of valour by recording that he once had s hot dead a young Muslim girl to protect her honour and to end her misery while she was being gang-raped by Hindu youth during Partition. That, of course, is Hindutva justice: that is, the minorities can best look forward to liberation through mercy killi ng.

Christians are being targeted by the front organisations of the RSS in order to terrorise and ghetto-ise all minorities. Since Osama bin Laden is stalking the Hindustan peninsula with his millions of dollars and narcotics, for the wily and cautious RSS. Christians are an easy target because there are no Christian terrorists to retaliate. As the period of the Emergency clearly demonstrated, the RSS is astute enough to know when to hunt with the hounds and when to run with the hares. They are smarter than the German fascists in this respect.

The third component of the RSS game plan is to ready the blueprints for implementing the agenda. Of course they cannot implement it in the present Parliament, but it will be their USP (unique selling proposition) for the mid-term poll. They have already scripted the new history texts; they have sent into circulation amongst the faithful how the new Constitution of India should be structured.

ACCORDING to a draft circulated at the 1998 October conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), an RSS front organisation, the following measures are planned: The present bicameral Parliament would be replaced by a three-tier structure. At the apex will be a Guru Sabha of sadhus and sanyasis (read VHP activists) nominated by the President who is elected by a Lok Sabha constituted on a limited electoral college of primary and secondary school teachers, the rolls of which will be prepared by the HRD Ministry and not the Election Commission. All legislation and money bills will have to originate in the Guru Sabha and be passed by it before being sent to the Lok Sabha. The Guru Sabha will also be the judicial commission to nominate Supreme Court Judges, and impeach them. In between the Guru Sabha and the Lok Sabha, there will be a Raksha Sabha of serving armed forces chiefs and retired soldiers who can decide when to declare an Emergency. India would be, it seems, converted into a state w hich is a cross between the Taliban and the Vatican. It is for this scheme that they will seek a mandate in a mid-term poll.

The RSS game plan also has proposals to bridle the electoral system. Adult suffrage is out, but furthermore, the electoral college for the Lok Sabha will not vote for candidates, but for parties under a List System. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used in all the constituencies. Perhaps it is then easier to rig the outcome. After all, in the 1999 general elections, the BJP and its allies won 34 out of the 45 Lok Sabha constituencies which had EVMs. On that ratio, the NDA should have won 405 se ats of the 544 Lok Sabha constituencies and not 292. EVMs have to be programmed by an engineer to tabulate the votes in its memory. It can easily be programmed to transfer votes of one candidate to another, or one party to another. The EVMs are entirely unsafeguarded today. I suspect it was rigged in the 1999 general elections.

The RSS game plan is thus ready. Only the D-Day for the blitzkrieg is to be determined. Since it appears that the RSS has already been generating momentum on religious fundamentalist issues (for example, Gujarat's Ram temple) and raised the fanatical emo tional temperature (chasing of Christian missionaries), my guess is that this campaign will be taken to a fever pitch by November 9, 2001 (the 1986 date for shilanyas) and then mid-term elections will be called.

Prime Minister Vajpayee will as usual waffle and wobble, but he will not resist. That is his nature; he is a mask for the RSS, as Commissar Govindacharya had once said.

On Debates needed towards building a Hindu-Manifesto

Wishing readers a Happy New Christian-Gregorian New Year 2012.

On a new year, let us try to contemplate on an agenda for Hindu-Manifesto-Debate:

In our humble opinion, we need to re-invigorate Participatory Debates, the tradition of "Shastrarth" (Knowledge Based Debates) with an aim towards Correct understanding of Social Principles within Sanatana Dharma. In light of the above, informed and high quality debates on relevant topics (not in any order) such as (including but not restricted to) must be organized:

1. The Nature and Structure of Our Governing Principles:
  • a. Less Government (read More Freedom and more Responsibility) or Big Government (read Socialism)
  • b. Affirmative Action (by Government in form of Reservations etc) or Education Based Wisdom inspired Charity by Individuals and Voluntarily Co-operating Groups
  • c. Secularism or Hindu Universalism.
  • d. Security, (De-)Centralization, Integrity, Standardization, Freedom.
  • e. Fair Governance or Obsession with Minorities.

...

2. What kind of State should we have?:
  • a. Monarchy, Democracy, Collection of Private Law Societies, Federation, etc.
  • b. Even within Democracy: A Presidential-like System or Parliamentary-like System or
  • c. A Republic (Constitutionally Limited) or a Mobocracy (Unlimited Democracy).
  • d. Who gets to vote? Universal Adult Suffrage vs Deserved Suffrage.
...

3. The Nature of Law:
  • a. Do we focus only on the Written Law or do we also take into cognizance Moral-Wisdom encompassing Oral Tradition.
  • b. Exemplary punishment for Privileged Functionaries.
...

We need to educate the people about the importance of the need to have the structure and the law based on Universal Principles of Sanatana Dharma, the Truth Based Civilization. These will spontaneously and naturally lead to the writing of a New Constitution.

Many more topics could be added to these list(s) of topics. Readers' suggestions are welcome. Also readers are welcome to send their views on the topics themselves.
